God First Hoax.

Isn’t God supposed to be first in our life? Well, that’s only half true and is honestly one of the ways that the devil will keep you from unlocking your full potential in your walk with Christ. Think about it like this…
So often times we feel like we have to put God first in our day, we try and wake up a few minutes early to spend quiet time and then go about our day. However, you are training yourself to treat God like a chore, something that takes time out of your day that you have to compensate for when you set your alarm clock. Instead of going to hang out with your friends, you remember that you forgot to do quiet time so you make up an excuse why you can’t go out to eat. So, what does putting God first in your life really look like?
The key: put God first in everything that you do in your life; academics, friend circle, campus organizations, and much much more. Instead of skipping time sleeping or hanging out with your friends, have a conversation about Christ with your friends or ask if you can pray for the people in your organization. They key to a truly successful, functional relationship with Christ is putting Him first in every aspect of our life, not just first in our day.
You see, you end up treating God and cutting him out of the most important things in your life by putting him just in that 30 minute window before you take a shower each day or go to sleep. God doesn’t want to just be first in your day, but first in every priority that you set out to accomplish or be apart of on a daily basis. Don’t worry about putting God first in your day, work on putting God first in everything that you set out to do that day: your friend interaction, your study time at RBD, the music you listen to, or the chapter you attend. Don’t get me wrong, spending quiet time at the very beginning of everyday or before you go to sleep is great and very admirable, but don’t let a 30 minute window be the only time God surfaces in your day!
When our goals for our life align with what God wants for your life, you discover the true power of God. If the devil can’t stop you from going to church and having a daily devotion, he will attack your everyday life and convince you that a 30 minute devotional is enough and that God will understand. Wrong! Put God first in all that you set out to do and you will truly see a difference.
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. -Ephesians 5:15-16
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you -Matthew 6:33
So as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. -1 Peter 4:2
