“Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the LORD had made his journey successful.” Genesis 24:21

One of the biggest misconceptions that many non-believers have today, and new born christians, is that they believe the end goal is to get people to believe in Jesus.

Moreover, we believe the finish line is believing in Jesus. That’s it, that’s the whole goal of what we do everyday. Believe ourselves and get others to believe too. Well newsflash, believing isn’t the finish line for your walk with Christ- it’s just the beginning. Achieving faith in Jesus isn’t the finished product, you just hit the start line.

We run the risk of running the people we’re witnessing to into returning to their bad habits. If we focus all of our attention on just getting people to believe, then what happens once they achieve that? They find themselves empty handed with a new lifestyle, but no way of going from there.

So…What are we after if believing in Jesus is just the mere beginning to this christian thing?

Each and every human being is created for a purpose, a calling, for the kingdom of God. If you’re not feeding your flock, whether that be a congrigation or the friends around you, a way of putting their new found faith to use; you are running the risk of only teaching them half the cross.

Jesus died because He loved us so much that He wanted us to spend eternity with Him forever. However, He also died so that we would forever have an atonement or payment for the sins we commit to enable us to live without worry to accomplish our purpose on this earth.

So whether you’re standing up every Sunday preaching,  a man on a mission to see your friends and family hear the good news of Christ, or merely discovering your own faith for the first time… Understand that believing in Jesus as Lord and Savior is not the end goal for life, but merely allowing you to step onto the starting line of what God has for the rest of your time on earth.

You were created for more than just being saved from Hell, you were created to be unstoppable world changers for Christ!

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
