Do you ever remember what presents you were given for your 1st birthday? How about your 3rd, 5th, or even 8th? Probably not.
What about all those expensive cloths you bought 2 years ago that you recently donated to Goodwill? How much did those cost?
There are so many things in our life that brought us past joy, but are present waste to us. If you think about the sum of money you spent on all those clothes you eventually gave away, you wouldn’t be struggling to pay the bills these days.
There is a greater waste though, far greater for far more people than clothes.
God gave us a free gift, a gift that lasts for eternity. A chance to find a best friend when we’re alone, a place to run when we’re scared, someone to correct us when we do wrong and to reward us when we do right, someone that will love us more than we could love back.
For so many of us today, our salvation was our past joy, but we can’t seem to even remember the last time God brought us happiness in this present season of our life. We go about living our life forgetting to spend time with God – unable to even remember the last month we even actually read our bible.
But here’s the good news, God wants to change something in your life starting right now if you will let him.
Our plan for our life = Past Joy, Present Waste
God’s plan for our life = Past waste, Present Joy
God has the ability to turn our mistakes into miracles, no matter the circumstances. You may think that you’re too far into your life to give God a chance, but you’re wrong. God is fully willing and able to turn our present wastes into our past as we transition into the next day.
The only person holding you back from a new chapter in your life is yourself – it’s not God. God’s love is always constant and never changing, you have to overcome yourself to be able to come into his love.
The greatest gift you’ll ever receive is a free one, but are you willing to accept it?

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:10-11
My cell phone contract comes up in September and I am so excited to finally get caught up with technology. I feel like my phone lags in technology, has less features than others, and is much slower; better yet, I am ready to have the next best phone than what I currently have.
So what if your life was like a cell phone contract? Would you upgrade to the next greatest life-style or would you stick with what you’ve got because it’s easy to use? What if I told you that you only had to make one upgrade for the rest of your life and you’d have the greatest features, most advanced knowledge, and happiest moments?
Would you do it?
Our society is obsessed with always looking ahead to the next greatest pay raise, car, job, age, relationship, or popularity? Well guess what, if you spend your entire life always yearning for the next greatest thing your life is going to pass you by. One day you’re going to realize you’re sitting on your death bed, wondering where all the time went.
I truly and fully believe that in the year 2011 we are living in a movement of God, but you are too busy waiting to graduate, get married, or start making real money to ever be effective for the Kingdom.
The next greatest thing to take your life from good to great isn’t ahead of you, it’s behind you: Jesus died on the cross over 2,000 years ago. And to this day, and forever more, will be the ultimate upgrade; better than anything money can buy, better than any pleasure you can feel, or income bracket.
Each and every person is eligible for a free upgrade, you don’t have to wait for 2 months to roll by like I do waiting for my next phone. Jesus wants to take everything that comes with you and completely upgrade your life. This a free offer for a lifetime filled with trials, blessings in disguise, and a rebate offer that is good for eternal life with a loving God that loves you for who you are.
He overcame everything the world has to offer you, He overcame the penalties of the sins you should be facing, and He overcame every negative feeling you have about yourself.
Stop looking for the next best thing in your life, it’s sitting right in front of you. Jesus.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Today you’re going to see the doctor…Your symptoms: Feeling insecure and pressured about relationships and the opposite sex.
When we think ahead into our lives, we think about having kids and having a wonderful family, but that just doesn’t happen without a lot of hard-work. No, I’m not talking about just going to counseling, having lots of money to feed kids, or paying off your mortgage before your first child – it comes down to who you marry. But before you can marry someone, you’ve got to date them, and for many of us win them over.
If you’re not playing hard to get, then you’re depriving yourself of what you deserve. As a child of God, you have got to make someone work to get your attention – especially you girls. A guy shouldn’t be able to start talking to you and then 2 weeks later your facebook status has changed. You have every right to be selective because this will be the most important decision you will ever make in your life, besides becoming a christian.
As a single christian, you have to ensure that your security isn’t found in another person, but in God’s promise for your life. God has promised you more than you can ever imagine and has someone special lined up for you, but you have to seek him first. Allow yourself to be in the right place for God allow it to be the right time – not clubbing every night with your friends. If you want to find the right person for you, go to the right place.
Relationships aren’t destructive, they’re distracting you away from God if both people aren’t in it for God. You don’t want a hollywood story for yalls relationship, you want a God story. You don’t want him to come sweep you off your feet one day, give you all the dresses you want, and be happy with that. All hollywood stories end at the altar with expensive clothes and an exotic honeymoon, but end in divorce. You want a God story, filled with him seeking and praying about meeting you. Here’s the thing, if someone really doesn’t love Christ, than they really can’t and will not be able to love you because Christ shows us the ultimate form of sacrifice and love.
If they’re ashamed of God in dating relationship, then how are they going to be Jesus in yalls marriage? Someone that runs after God’s own heart with all that they have got is going to give you the greatest life you can think of. Someone that will run after God more than they will run after you will be accountable, trustworthy, loving, and caring in your relationship because those are some of the qualities of God.
Sometimes you feel like you aren’t worthy to talk to that girl or that guy because of what you did in your past. Here’s the thing: the bible says that purity is God’s promise to us from this day forward, but we aren’t pure unless we are saved by Christ Jesus. Jesus died for all of your sins and covers everything you’ve ever done. In Christ, we are a new creation and you do not have to worry about not feeling worthy enough to go up and talk to that person. Don’t wait for someone to set you up with someone, set yourself up with God and let him set you up. Who else is better to set you up with your partner than the one that created you in His own image?
Our instant satisfactions are far smaller, in pleasure, than the eternal glory we could have if we denied ourselves. Yes, we are all human and have hormones and testosterone. However, if you can deny those small wants and desires, you are teaching yourself patience and the ability to rely on God to get you through any situation. Don’t freak out if you’re not on schedule with your plan for your life because that means God has you right on time for his plan! God makes everything perfect in his own timing and yes it sucks that you have been single for so long, but God has a special plan for you to fall so in love with that special somebody!
So my challenge for you today is this: Are you compromising the standards God gave you for your life? You don’t get a harvest if you don’t plant your seed in fertile soil. So, are you acting in a way that will reap benefits for your future relationship with someone?
Please anonymously “comment” questions about different things I will talk about because Friday’s post will be a Q&A with your questions that you posted.
And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.” Isaiah 43:2
“He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40:29-31

If anyone will ever see you for you really are, you worry about being accepted by your friends. You’re afraid to show the world who you really are because you feel like you have to fit a stereotype to keep your friends. You worry about summer being around the corner and going to pool parties because you’re embarrassed the way you look. You pray that nobody would see you for what you are on the inside and outside…
The sin you’ve committed in your past, the devil keeps you on a short leash because he constantly reminds you of all the times you failed and how nobody would be your friend if they knew what you did. You are addicted and enslaved by sin, but you do nothing about it because it keeps you company in your darkest hour and it’s how you feel good about yourself. Your waist high in sins and all you can do is cry at night and hope that nobody would ever know the bitter truth of who you really are…
You’ve tried and tried in your relationship and you can’t just seem to get it to work. No matter what you do, no matter how many dates and money you spend on them it never seems to work out. You feel like just giving up and going out and just forgetting it all on a one night scrounge in hopes of finding belonging and attention from the opposite sex. You are so insecure and you try so hard to make them happy, but it never works and you’re all alone. You worry that one day you will be unhappily married because nobody ever seems to like you for who you really are…
Jesus carried all our pain and worries for you. He knew you worried about things. In fact, Christ lived and walked on this Earth for the first 30 years of his life learning what it was like to be human, it wasn’t until the last 3 years that He began to perform miracles and be crucified. Jesus knows about everything, every pain you feel. YES, He even knows what it’s like to be letdown in a relationship. Jesus called the Church and you and I his bride, can you think of a time when you let God down? He knows what it’s like to be letdown or disappointed in someone. I think if Jesus was to walk up to you, He would say “worrier, why do you worry? I have conquered death and took everything you hate about yourself on the cross with me.”
The bible says that we are a new creation in Christ, so stop worrying so much. We all do it, I know sometimes I worry, but if you can just cast all your cares on Christ, you will be taken care of. He took your worries and anxiety, and let them be driven in with the nails that pierced His body. You are so special and a beautiful creation in Christ…We are sons and daughters of the King and He loves you in the most perfect love, a love that our mind can’t even comprehend. Don’t worry anymore, once a child of the King, always a child of the king. There are some days you don’t feel saved, but you have to hold onto the promises the bible made you and remember there is someone that paid the ultimate price JUST FOR YOU!
Worry no more. Worrier, why do you worry? You have nothing to worry about, Jesus conquered all of our sins and fears! Jesus paid a high price for a high reward that we receive and that’s eternal salvation.
Dont worry because…
If someone can’t accept you for who you really are, you don’t need them in your life anyways. Jesus is a friend to the friendless, when you feel alone He is there. All you have to do is talk to Him and He will answer you! You are beautifully and wonderfuly made in the image of Christ! If someone can’t talk to you because you’re a food addict ( LIKE ME 🙂 ) then they are missing out on the coolest person in the world, you!
The bible says we have ALL fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus died because each and everyone of us have our own struggles and sin everyday. Nobody is perfect. In fact, I guarantee you some of the people that you are too afraid to share with are struggling with the same areas you have or have struggled in the past! Jesus loves you regardless! He knew your past, present, and future sins before He died for you and took them all on the cross with him!
God has a special destiny already plotted out for you! Don’t fret, God will provide you with the most incredible friendships and spouse you could ever imagine if you would just seek him first and let him bring the people into your life you need rather than forcing friendships/dating relationships! God makes everything beautiful in HIS timing, not ours!
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” -Psalm 55:22
So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”-Matthew 6:34
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.” -Proverbs 3: 5-6
