Worth Dying For

January 1, 2012 Comments Off on Worth Dying For

It began long ago, when darkness, through its deceit captured the hearts of the sons and daughters of light. We looked for light but we found only darkness. We searched for bright skies but walked in gloom. We fumbled like the blind along the wall, feeling our way like people without eyes. We were destined to fall, even in the brightest days. We stumbled as if it were dark. Among the living, we were like the dead.

We looked for justice, but it never came. We looked for rescue but it was far from us. So He, Himself, stepped in to save us with his strong arm and justice to sustain Him. He put on righteousness as armor, salvation His helmet. He clothed Himself with the robe of vengeance and wrapped Himself in a cloak of divine passion. He slipped out of his royal garments, left eternity to enter time, divinity to wrap himself in humanity.

The sea of glass, for the ocean of separation. He left peace, and for the first time felt pain. Because the very hands that held the stars were now sentenced to wear my scars. It was love that purchased this traitor’s heart. It’s what the prophets spoke about when they envisioned light living in men once again.

For this reason, I AM LEGEND, predestined for greatness, built for the final hour. I was born for this with weapons in hand, armor in place. I now march to the beat of a different drum. I will break through battle lines that have been drawn by discouragement and despair.

What more is left to be said? Time has met its end. It’s now or never. Collision with me, myself, and I. You see my mission today is clear: to wake the dead. So let freedom’s song rage. You’re not abandoned. You’re not alone. Last day warriors arise from yesterday’s ash and raise your fist with us.

We are the army that is charging upon the land. Defeat is no longer and option! IT IS VICTORY.

May 23, 2011 Comments Off on Voices=Choices

Whether we realize it or not, our choices aren’t always sporadic and last minute. Inside all of us, we have two inner voices that speak to all of us: the devil and God.

In life, choices await us at every corner, bank, stop light, church engagement, and morning we rise. Who are you listening to for your choices? You see, if you are a believer you have the holy spirit inside of you- the voice of truth. However, we also have the voice of the enemy inside of us because we are all humans and sinners.

Each and everyone of us have a choice to listen to Gods voice on our life or the lies of the enemy. Which voice are you looking to hear? Do you feel like you’re a failure? Do you feel like you’re too dirty and messed up for Jesus to ever love someone like you? Do you feel like all God does is condemn you whenever you’re trying to have some fun in your life? That this whole God thing is pointless other than those perfect people that have it together and sit in church every sunday…

The voice of the devil is attractive to our human nature, it speaks to our human urges and nature by appealing to the easiest way out of a situation. It tells us that what we’re doing isn’t a big deal and that God will understand, but then when we do as it says it blows up in our face and says God could never love us and what an awful christian we are because of it. We all hear it, don’t think it’s just you. The devil wants to tear you down by woahing you with worldly desires, but then taking your soul and God given life to shreds and making it wortheless. He wants you to run after the “american dream” and never change someones life.

The voice of God is calm, truthful, and usually most confusing. Why? Because our ways aren’t His, we can’t fully comprehend why God wants us to act in a certain way and that’s why we don’t act on His voice. This voice leads to eternal Glory with Christ, it leads to being a world changer and servant of Christ. This voice values who you are and wants something more for you.

What am I getting at? What’s the point of this post? Well, I want to know what voice are you listening for and action on? You see, God doesn’t want to let you live this half-ass life, filled with emptiness after the season of fun has passed. Someone spoke something over you when you were younger, they told you that you were worthless, over-weight, or a nobody. You’ve let that vision become a reality and since then, you’ve listened to the voice of the enemy because you feel like God could never want you and would never speak to you. You keep living life listening for the voice of the enemy to tell you how pathetic you are because you’ve accepted that this is as good as it’s going to get…AND THAT’S SO WRONG.

You have a choice, you don’t have to hide in shame. God wants to give you a new life and that will only happen when you let the darkness inside of you be exposed to the light (Jesus). Just a drop of Jesus blood covers our entire life full of wrong doings, just a drop. Jesus bled profusely just for you, to give you a fresh new start. From this day forward, you can turn your life around and let just that drop of blood cover your entire past!

Right voices = Right Choices

Wrong Voices = Wrong Choices

Whom are you listening for?

Jesus accepts you for who you are, but doesn’t plan to leave you who you are…He wants you to be something greater. See, our most common misconception is that we have to clean up our act before we can go to God. We have to stop having sex, stop drinking, stop being disrespectful, get out finances in priority first, BUT the reality is that we can’t become clean unless we’re with God. We can’t become clean and pure until we get to Jesus. Jesus wants to clean you up for who you are and turn you into something greater, someone better…All you have to do is stop listening to the lies being fed into your mind that you’re no good, you’re a terrible mother, you’re too fat for someone to listen to you, that nobody likes you- they are all lies.

Stop living in the lies and step into the light to see who you really are, God’s beautiful creation!

You don’t have a choice who to listen to. You don’t matter to God. You don’t have a beautiful personality.

Alternate Route

April 18, 2011 Comments Off on Alternate Route

As we go about driving around, we often come across times when we have to go over speed bumps traveling to the place we want to go. Speed bumps are used to slow a car down in a sensitive area in the city. If someone was to drive too fast, they would run the risk of running over something or someone and causing themselves serious pain. However, we often times try to avoid the speed bumps at all cost because it’s uncomfortable for us to drive over and only slows us down on our route. So, we try to take a new route around the speed bumps; therefore, bypassing the purpose of the speed bump….

In our spiritual journey, God has placed speed bumps all throughout our life. Whether you know it or not, God is going to get your attention by putting a speed bump in a certain part of your life to get you to slow down in a sensitive time in your life. However, if you just go about your life without thinking about the purpose of the trial or difficulty, you’re going to bypass the speed bump and it will all be for a waste. Some speed bumps may be small, like a bad test grade or not making a certain position you tried out for. Some speed bumps may be big, like getting broken up with, losing your purity, getting fired from a job, having a death in the family, or having a addiction. While the bad, in the moment, may seem overwhelming and punishing. Remember, God doesn’t want to punish you but He wants to prepare you for a later time in your life. He has you going through a difficult situation to be able to help someone else out or to give you a powerful testimony!

Remember this: while speed bumps seem awful and uncomfortable to go over, they have a very big purpose for keeping you safe on the road. While you may be beating yourself up over a situation you’re in or you’re on your last leg of trying in life, remember that God has full control and put a speed bump in your life to slow you down and get you to acknowledge Him. God is a mysterious God, He is all knowing, so we often times can’t see how things will fall together, but they will.

So, next time you’re out navigating life. Don’t try and avoid the speed bumps and look for an alternative route because you’re going to be missing out on the plans God has for your life. While you may eventually get to your desired destination via your alternate route, it will have taken you much more time, gas, and frustration to get there. Don’t be afraid of the speed bumps, embrace them, and remember their purpose.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; …”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 ESV
